The ‘Ten Priorities for Hybrid Cloud, Containers and DevOps in 2017’ EMA Report Names Top Three Products in Various IT Technologies to Help Customers Address the Ten Key IT Operations Priorities in an Effective and Innovative Way
SAN JOSE, Calif. – July 11, 2017 – Electric Cloud (http://electric-cloud.com), the leader in DevOps Release Automation and Continuous Delivery, today announced it has been selected as one of the “Top Three” in IT research firm EMA’s new report entitled, “Ten Priorities for Hybrid Cloud, Containers and DevOps in 2017.” The report shows where organizations are investing today and what they need to do to effectively harness containers, public cloud, DevOps automation, machine learning, hyper-converged systems and other critical technologies. Electric Cloud’s DevOps Release Automation platform – ElectricFlow – has been chosen as one of the top three products for IT Automation for DevOps. “We are proud to be selected as an EMA ‘Top 3’ company for DevOps,” said Steve Brodie, CEO of Electric Cloud. “This is the fourth award-winning, independent ranking assessment of ElectricFlow we’ve received in the last six months, which is a reflection of the platform’s strength and rich feature set. By automating their entire software delivery pipeline – across all environments, applications, processes and toolsets – ElectricFlow enables our customers to transform their software delivery into a genuine competitive advantage in today’s market. Helping our customers release better software more frequently, and with less risk, is the core of Electric Cloud’s mission.”
Electric Cloud will be hosting a joint webinar on staging-devopsy.kinsta.cloud with EMA’s Managing Research Director Torsten Volk on August 29, 2017 11AM PDT to share more findings from the report. According to the new EMA study, “almost any organization is affected by a lack of automation and the consequences this brings in terms of software release frequency, efficiency loss, software quality issues, and cost overruns. ‘Infrastructure Provisioning speed’ is the number two overall investment priority in IT operations for enterprises over the next 12 months (right after cost control). This is needed as 38 percent of enterprises complain about the time it takes to build development and test environments and an additional 33 percent does not have any automation capabilities in place to move application code from dev/test environments into production. Thirty-nine percent suffer from inconsistencies between dev, test and production environments and again 39 percent encounter software bugs due to a lack of communication between different development groups.”
“Electric Cloud’s ElectricFlow addresses three central problems of DevOps today: Automation at scale; ensuring fidelity of environments, processes and artifacts throughout the pipeline; and, visibility across the entire delivery lifecycle,” said Torsten Volk, managing research director at EMA who oversaw the research study. “ElectricFlow ties together the DevOps toolchain and centralizes DevOps automation, Release visibility and compliance reporting.”
ElectricFlow is the industry’s only DevOps Release Automation solution to span the entire Continuous Delivery process, from developer check-in to production release, with a single platform. This unified approach provides Dev and Ops teams a central point of governance, collaboration and visibility, eliminating the gaps that can introduce friction and errors in the end-to-end process. Just last month, Electric Cloud introduced its latest version of ElectricFlow (http://electric-cloud.com/company/news/press-releases/item/electric-cloud-simplifies-application-onboarding-takes-rocket-science-continuous-delivery/). The newest release includes a new self-service catalog of out-of-the-box templates of common DevOps processes and stacks for users to get started quickly and easily. ElectricFlow is also the only DevOps platform that allows users to create their own vetted, best practice automations to be added to the catalog and promoted across the entire organization – encouraging standardization, re-usability and governance.
