  • Platform.sh Launches White Label SaaS Factory for Faster SaaS Deployments

New rapid-launch capabilities and APIs enable software companies to move to the cloud and create new recurring revenue businesses in weeks, not years

[October 24, San Francisco, CA] Platform.sh, the Idea-to-Cloud Application Platform that simplifies cloud infrastructure, today announced the availability of its white-label platform, which enables software companies and SaaS entrepreneurs to transform their existing on-premise software or build new SaaS businesses with unprecedented speed.

Organizations spend increasingly significant amounts of time and budget on the development and maintenance of infrastructure, distracting focus from the core value that they provide to their customers – amazing applications and digital experiences. Platform.sh allows them to put their energy towards exciting and engaging customers – rather than building teams and technical debt to manage tooling, servers, containers, and cloud infrastructure – and eliminates capital expenditures needed to launch new lines of business.

In a matter of days, Platform.sh can provide a fully branded experience for the rapid deployment of SaaS software, commerce apps, mobile back-ends, and web applications at scale, built in multiple languages or frameworks. This capability leverages Platform.sh’s API-first approach to development, its unique instant-cloning technology, and its complete “batteries included” continuous deployment workflow, where infrastructure becomes composable and managed with the same tools as application code.

Partners simply need to provide basic branding information, load their existing application code as a template, decide on which cloud they want to settle within the options that Platform.sh provides (AWS, Azure and Orange, or all of them), and then leverage Platform.sh’s robust billing and provisioning APIs to integrate with their existing business processes.

Orange, a leading global cloud company; Magento Commerce (recently acquired by Adobe for $1.68B); eZ Systems; Sensio Labs (software vendor or Symfony) and many early-stage SaaS entrepreneurs have built new business models on the Platform.sh white-label SaaS factory, leading to massive valuation increases, higher deal win rates, and better margins.

“We built Platform.sh to allow organizations to move faster and drive business transformation by investing in what their customers really care about: great experiences with their applications. Our white-label platform has driven valuation for software companies by helping them move from licensing to SaaS, and gives enterprises and digital agencies the ability to deliver reliably and consistently with less cost.”

    – Frederic Plais, CEO, Platform.sh

“With Platform.sh’s new white-label platform, we’re able to provide our customers with an end-to-end solution for the development, deployment, and management of their content-centric projects – within just a few business days. This enables our customers to create engaging content faster than ever before, and allows us to generate new revenue streams through a SaaS delivery model.”

    – Roland Benedetti, Chief Product Officer, eZ Systems

“We moved Magento from being just an on premises product, sending people code and launching it, to enabling them to buy a fully hosted version out-of-the-box. We enabled customers to do that really quickly, really easily, and really seamlessly.”

    – Mark Lenhard, SVP Strategy, Magento Commerce, an Adobe Company

Creating a true SaaS product no longer requires massive investments, capital, or distraction from your core mission. With Platform.sh, businesses can launch and generate recurring revenue in weeks, not years.

  • UK technology firm Cloudhouse sees three-fold revenue growth and expansion into the US

Appoints Nick Coleman as CTO, and outlines its strategic growth plans

London, UK – October 16, 2018 – Cloudhouse Technologies has seen over 300 per cent growth over the last 12 months, and expanded its business into the US – thanks, in part, to strategic partnerships with Microsoft and Amazon. As it looks to continue its growth and expand its global footprint, Cloudhouse has also appointed Nick Coleman as CTO.

The company, which developed the innovative ‘Compatibility Container’ system, enables organisations to continue using their legacy applications safely and securely on new platforms and within the cloud without any code changes, even when they’re designed to run on unsupported versions of Windows and Citrix.

This is because ‘containerizing’ legacy applications resolves the problems around running 32-bit Windows XP and 7, Windows Server 2003 and 2008, and Internet Explorer-based applications on modern secure and supported operating systems and platforms. In addition to reducing the risks associated with unsupported operating systems, using a Container approach also helps eliminate costly Extended Security Update agreements and can help further reduce operating costs by consolidating server infrastructure.

Cloudhouse has recently expanded its operations into the United States and started to build a team in the region. Coleman’s appointment as CTO frees CEO and founder, Mat Clothier, to focus on the company’s growth plans, including those in the US market and other Global markets.

Previously head of application management at Sopra Steria and vice president, technology, at CGI, Coleman brings a wealth of experience in service delivery and of working with customers who rely on Microsoft-based products. He will focus on developing Cloudhouse’s technology offerings, as well as looking at innovative ways to support its growing customer base.

Nick Coleman, CTO, Cloudhouse, said: “Having spent the last 20 years delivering enterprise services, I understand the huge challenges organisations face when it comes to legacy applications. Thanks to our technology, along with strategic relationships with Microsoft, Amazon and Citrix, our product is uniquely positioned to help clients mitigate risk and move legacy applications to a more cost-effective, modern and secure environment.”

Mat Clothier, CEO and founder, Cloudhouse, said: “This is a key time for Cloudhouse as we continue to grow our customer base and move into the US market. We’ve experienced significant growth as we work to support more organisations and bigger customers to mitigate the issues of legacy operating systems. Nick’s appointment will go a long way to support this momentum, and his experience with Microsoft users and service delivery will boost our offering – and means we can continue to create solutions that help customers use their preferred applications safely and securely, no matter what their age, original operating system or browser specification.”

    About Cloudhouse

Cloudhouse Containers free enterprises from running unsupported Windows and Citrix platforms by making otherwise incompatible applications run on the newest platforms – whether they run on premise or in the cloud. Apps only need to be packaged once in stateless containers that handle application runtime, isolation, and full redirection. As a result, enterprises can complete Windows 10 or Cloud migration projects successfully. Cloudhouse is based in London.

  • Securonix Selects Cylance for End-to-End AI-Enabled Security Intelligence and Threat Prevention

Partnership To Provide Clients with Seamless Integration with CylancePROTECT and Securonix Security Analytics

IRVINE, Calif. – October 11, 2018 — Cylance Inc., the leading provider of AI-driven, prevention-first security solutions, and Securonix, the market leader of next-generation SIEM and user and entity behavioral analytics, today announced a partnership to support the interoperability of CylancePROTECT with the new release of the Securonix Security Analytics Platform.

Customers of Cylance and Securonix will now have the tools necessary to implement a prevention-first security strategy with CylancePROTECT and Securonix’s Security Analytics Platform to view, enrich, and contextualize real-time intelligence collected at the endpoint. In tandem, the two products will provide security operations center (SOC) teams with a single-pane view of both cloud and endpoint security events in addition to the continuous protection and prevention capabilities required to proactively detect and defeat virus, malware, ransomware, and other known and unknown threats.

Securonix Senior Vice President of Products Nitin Agale notes, “By integrating our Security Analytics Platform with CylancePROTECT, we not only prevent bad actors from infecting endpoint systems, but we also ensure that every attempt they make at moving laterally across the network can be promptly detected, traced, and terminated automatically before critical systems or data are compromised. In combination, CylancePROTECT and the Security Analytics Platform will enable SOC teams to minimize organizational risk while optimizing operational efficiency.”

Threats can be resolved and remediated automatically, minimizing not only time-to-detection but also the time between detection and quarantine. For example, if CylancePROTECT detects and blocks a malicious file at one endpoint, the Security Analytics Platform can respond immediately by pushing out rules to every other endpoint on premises and in the cloud to quarantine that file and block its execution.

“Organizations need cybersecurity solutions that are proven to be effective at preventing both today’s and tomorrow’s advanced attacks while providing the actionable threat intelligence SOC teams need to proactively manage cyber risk across the enterprise,” said Eric Cornelius, chief product officer at Cylance. “With CylancePROTECT guarding the endpoint and the Security Analytics Platform consolidating, assessing, and responding to security events in real time, organizations can be confident that their critical systems and data will remain secure, available, and infection-free.”

CylancePROTECT and the Security Analytics Platform provide a consolidated single pane view of security event activity:

    1. CylancePROTECT prevents adversaries from gaining a foothold at the endpoint by detecting and blocking the execution of both file-based and fileless attacks and by applying policies for device and script control, application control, and memory exploitation protection.
    2. The Security Analytics Platform uses RESTful APIs to ingest the security event data collected by CylancePROTECT at the endpoint. This includes not only information about suspect files, applications, scripts, and processes, but also event metadata, file attributes, and more.
    3. The Security Analytics Platform aggregates and correlates ingested data with user behavior analytics and network-based threat indicators and applies sophisticated machine learning algorithms to accurately detect advanced and insider threats and rank them based on risk scores. The Security Analytics Platform then generates prioritized alerts for threats that exceed a pre-defined risk threshold.
    4. SOC personnel can visualize and interrogate the resulting threat chain data within the Securonix management dashboard, drilling down and pivoting from one threat indicator to the next to trace and track the infection.

  • Applitools Introduces Application Visual Management Category (AVM) for Automated Management of all Visual Aspects of Application Delivery

New category focuses on visually perfect user experiences in the era of digital transformation

SAN MATEO, Calif., February 13, 2018 – Applitools (https://applitools.com) the leader in AI-powered Visual Testing and Monitoring, today introduced Application Visual Management (AVM), a new category framework that focuses on automating all the visual aspects of application delivery. AVM represents a new class of technology that is expanding Visual AI to the User Interface (UI) and end-user experience. It outlines industry mega-trends that underpin the convergence of digital transformation, CI-CD, shift left QA. It also outlines how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being used to ensure applications look visually correct when released – across all devices, platforms and browsers in real-time. The emerging Application Visual Management (AVM) category expands automated visual testing and monitoring to additional visual delivery components like accessibility, security, collaboration, bug tracking, source control, and more.

Today, only the functional aspects of application delivery are automated: testing, monitoring, CI, security, bug tracking, collaboration, source control, and more. At the same time, all of the visual aspects of application delivery are done manually by inspection of customer-facing applications, resulting in slow and error-prone processes that cannot support the speed of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI-CD).

AVM represents a new Visual AI based approach that automates visual production, testing, delivery and monitoring. It provides the conceptual framework for how an emerging class of tools now integrate and support functional software development tools, including UI development tools, CI, bug tracking, collaboration, version control, monitoring and security. The result is shorter application delivery cycles and improved software quality, as “what customers see” is automatically monitored 24/7 to prevent visual flaws that frequently result from browser and microservices updates, and the introduction of new mobile devices, operating system updates and the effects of dynamic content.

To learn more about Application Visual Management, download a free whitepaper at: (https://goo.gl/6vMNHR).

“As a member of the automated testing community, we have outlined a new industry category that extends the scope and reach beyond automated testing and monitoring to the very front door of the digital transformation – what customers first see when new or modified software is released,” said Gil Sever, CEO of Applitools. “Application Visual Management represents the evolution of Visual AI, and builds upon the established Application Performance Management market, to automate the massive task of monitoring the visual appearance of what customers see and interact with every day across all their devices.”

DevOps teams, test automation engineers, front-end developers, QA teams and designers all experience the difficulty of managing the visual aspects of the applications they develop in a fully automated and reliable way that allows better and faster control on the customer’s digital experience.

The core characteristics of Application Visual Management are:

    1. Addresses the emerging need to use Visual Artificial Intelligence to automate the way organizations manage the visual aspects of applications, including testing, monitoring, CI, bug tracking, collaboration, version control, security, and more.
    2. Is driven by global trends like Continuous Delivery, Shift Left, microservices architecture, and the proliferation of browsers and devices that are all critical for application delivery and updates, in the era of digital transformation.
    3. Aims to level the automated management of the visual and functional aspects of the software application, to remove bottlenecks that hinder high-quality delivery processes that encompass all aspects of an application.
    4. AVM also supports pre-production detection and faster production resolution of visual bugs in the face of continuous change, rapid technological advancements and new, disruptive business threats. It aims to organize and automate visual testing and monitoring to help organizations deliver an exceptional digital experience for all customers with the utmost confidence.

Jonathan Lipps, founding principal at Cloud Grey and project lead on Appium comments: “The cutting-edge apps of today and tomorrow have components that are increasingly challenging to manage in an automated fashion. From the inclusion of novel UI components to the need for flawless rendering across a variety of form factors and platforms, the requirements for automated application delivery are growing at the same rate as the difficulty to do so. There is a great need in the industry for accurate and fast feedback on all application delivery elements, functional and visual) to support the increasingly high expectation for rapid and holistic CI/CD cycles.”
